LORI : Rajasthani Story by L. K. Ranga "Hindi & English Tranversion by Rajni Chhabra

LULLABY
A destitute woman, dwelling on foot-path, was sitting, holding the hungry child in her lap. Condition of the child was worsening.

Not far away, a leader, very apt in art of showing public enchanting, sweet dreams, was delivering a speech.

The child started crying during speech of leader. Mother told him, " Be quiet and listen. How sweet is lullaby of our leader! Leader was saying, " I will eradicate poverty and dearness from our country and turn it again into the golden sparrow, Rivers of ghee and milk will flow; nobody will die of starvation...."

Pleased with this speech, mother  shook the child to narrate him this good news. The starving child had already breathed his last.
